THE ANNUAL KICKS FOR A CURE WEEKEND
Mark your calendars for the 2021 Kicks for a Cure Weekend and NO SHOW auction, April 12-18, 2021!
The Kicks for a Cure weekend honors Liz Karnes and her love of soccer. Traditionally Saturday’s soccer games (featuring local teams) offer an opportunity for families to cheer on the athletes and spread awareness for a great and important cause. This year we are also proud to partner with the Alliance Soccer Tournament where over 75 youth teams will compete. Proceeds raised from the tournament will be directed to local pediatric cancer research.
Funds from the auction and event will go directly to cancer research at the Fred and Pamela Buffett Cancer Center and the Hereditary Cancer Center at Creighton University in Omaha. Heading into its 16th year, proceeds from past events total an impressive $3,400,000.
2021 KICK-OFF PARTY
The NO SHOW auction and event offers the opportunity for everyone to generate excitement for the weekend’s soccer festivities and Alliance Youth Soccer Tournament. The weeks long virtual event will also allow our supporters the opportunity to come together with the same common goal – to KICK cancer.

2020 Inspiration Award Winner
Steve and Barb Durham
“We are really involved [in Kicks for a Cure] because of Liz and Dave and our lifelong friendship with the Karnes. A few years ago I didn’t have any idea what oncology was. Having experienced what I have been through and especially what Liz had to endure has made me extremely passionate about finding a cure.” – Steve Durham
Steve Durham, an Omaha native, and his wife, Barb, currently resides in Clear Lake, TX. They have two sons, one daughter, and six grand children. Steve is a cancer survivor.
The Inspiration Award is presented to an individual, family or group that has contributed significantly to the success of the KFAC event and its efforts to increase cancer awareness locally and statewide.
THANK YOU TO ALL OF OUR SPONSORS FOR MAKING THIS WEEKEND A POSSIBILITY. WE ARE EXTREMELY GRATEFUL TO HAVE SUCH OUTSTANDING PARTNERS IN THE OMAHA COMMUNITY TO SUPPORT KICKS FOR A CURE!
