THE ANNUAL KICKS FOR A CURE WEEKEND

April 16-17, 2027

The annual event is “kicked off” with an auction and program on Friday night at Let It Fly Sports Bar in downtown Omaha. Saturday, come watch exciting local high school matches that are held at Creighton’s Morrison Stadium.

The Kicks for a Cure weekend honors Liz Karnes and her love of soccer. Traditionally Saturday’s soccer games (featuring local teams) offer an opportunity for families to cheer on the athletes and spread awareness for a great and important cause.

Funds from the auction and event go directly to cancer research at the Fred and Pamela Buffett Cancer Center and the Lynch Cancer Research Center at Creighton University in Omaha. In 2026, the event raised almost $400,000! Past events total an impressive $5,500,000.

2026 KICKS FOR A CURE FALL TAILGATE

In 2025 Kicks for a Cure hosted its first tailgate fundraiser during the Creighton and UNO men’s and women’s back-to-back soccer matches to determine city bragging rights! Games were played at UNO’s Caniglia Field.
